Eagle Scout Awards on February 8 Share
On Sunday, February 8, Boy Scout Troop 12 of New Lenox will present the Eagle Scout Award to two of its Boy Scouts. Gregory Dampf started his Scouting Trail in 1998 as a Tiger Cub in Pack 49 of New Lenox. On completing the highest honor in Cub Scouts, the Arrow of Light, he graduated into Boy Scout Troop 12 in February of 2002. His Eagle project was re-roofing the United Methodist Cabin that is used by many organizations during the year. Greg's scouting experiences that have helped him reach the goal of Eagle Scout will help him grow and succeed in life. He will be graduating from Lincoln-Way Central this year.

Michael Pakosz started Cub Scouts in 1997 in Pack 6 of New Lenox. He received the Cub Scouts' highest rank, the Arrow of Light, at his Pack's Blue and Gold celebration in February of 2001. He graduated into Boy Scout Troop 12 that same month. Michael's Scouting journey has been filled with experiences that will encourage him to excel during his life. His Eagle project was to organize and move the books of St. Mary's School to its newly remodeled library. Michael is a 2008 graduate from Lincoln-Way Central High School. These boys chose to receive their Eagle Award on February 8 because it is the official Scout Sunday for the Boy Scouts of America. Russell Publications publishes several community newspapers every week, serving Cook, Kankakee, and Will counties.
